The sculptress Rita Gallè was born in Caltanissetta (Sicily), in 1931.
In her early twenties, she moved to Milan. There she immersed herself in the artistic circles and debuted as a painter and sculptor in 1952.
In 1967, Rita opened her first art gallery, followed by a the second in 1974. In addition to her own work, she also exhibited the works of emerging artists.
Rita created unique pieces of work in ceramic, and continued to use this media throughout her career.
In addition to being a respected sculptress, Rita was attracted by the applied arts and also produced jewellery and furniture.
She died in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 2009.
